NEWS UPDATE – EU-059 website now availbale

JUNE 9, 2017 – Jan, ON4CO (OS5A) and Gert, ON4GS will be setting up a DXpedition to the archipelago of St. Kilda EU-059. The intended timeframe to activate St. Kilda from 10th July through 14th 2017. A successful landfall on Hirta is highly dependent on weather conditions which might interfere with time schedules.

The Outer Hebrides (EU-010) might be activated as well as an alternative or during travel to and from the archipelago. The DXpedition is equipped to operate on all HF bands (160-10m). Main activity will be in SSB and CW, digital modes optionally. QSL via bureau and LoTW.

Le 9 Juin 2017 — Jan, ON4CO (OS5A) et Gert, ON4GS va mettre en place un DXpedition de l’archipel St. Kilda EU-059. Le délai prévu pour activer St. Kilda du 10 au 14 Juillet 2017. A touché terre avec succès sur Hirta dépend fortement des conditions météorologiques qui pourraient interférer avec les horaires.

Les Hébrides extérieures (EU-010) peut être activée ainsi qu’une solution de rechange ou pendant Voyage vers et depuis l’archipel. Le DXpedition est équipé pour fonctionner sur toutes les bandes HF (de 160-10m). Activité principale sera en SSB et CW, les modes numériques en option. QSL via bureau et LoTW.

Craig VK5CE informs DX-World.net he will be operating for a short stopover again on Granite Island OC-228 on Monday July 10. From his nearby home location Craig has noticed reasonable openings to VK5 in the late afternoon period of 0400 UTC to 0730 UTC on 20m to short path North America, short path Asia and long path Europe. He will be using a vertical at the ocean’s edge with a direct water path to Asia/North America short path and Europe short/long path. http://oc228.blogspot.com.au/

Craig VK5CE informe DX-World.net qu’il fonctionnera pour une courte escale à nouveau sur l’île de Granite OC-228 le lundi 10 Juillet. De son lieu de résidence à proximité Craig a remarqué des ouvertures raisonnables VK5 dans la période de fin de l’après-midi de 0400 UTC à 0730 UTC sur 20 m de chemin court Amérique du Nord, chemin court et long chemin Asie Europe. NEWS UPDATE – The short 5N7ATI/4 activity to Bonny Island AF-076 brought 53 QSOs in the log. Uli used a TenTec Scout and GPA on 20m in SSB. Log is uploaded on Club Log and the supporting material is sent to IOTA committee. There is no further activity planned. If someone wants more information, please contact QSL manager DF8DX. JUNE 17, 2017 – Uli 5N7ATI (also DL7ATI) will have a business trip to Bonny Island AF-076. He will take a vertical antenna and will be QRV on 14.260MHz during his very limited time there. Please note that Uli is not a DXpeditioner and this is a business trip. He will be happy to get some QSOs in the log. Flight to Port Harcourt is booked as well as the boat to Bonny Island on 19th June 2017. Equipment is already sent to the island and we got confirmation that it arrived. Without knowing the exact schedule and possibility how and where to setup antenna there, he might be QRV on 20.June 2017 after work around 1700UTC for a few hours. The boat back to Port Harcourt is on 21st June early morning.

Uli is living in Nigeria for many years but he used ham radio primarily to be in touch with some friends in Germany as well as Pactor. QSL cards will be available via DF8DX. [tnx DF8DX]

NEWS UPDATE – Masa, JA0RQV is planning to activate Niuatoputapu Island (OC-191) as A35JP/P from 17 to 22 August 2017. QTH will be same guest house in Hihifo village where he activated OC-191 in 2014. Success rate will fully depend on the probability of domestic flight to OC-191 which is scheduled once a week. Operation will be powered by generator. QRV on 80m-6m, CW & SSB. QSL via LoTW, Club Log OQRS.

DES NOUVELLES MISE À JOUR – Masa, JA0RQV envisage d’activer Niuatoputapu Island (OC-191) en utilisant l’indicatif A35JP / P du 17 au 22 Août 2017. QTH sera même maison d’hôtes dans le village Hihifo où il a activé OC-191 en 2014. Activity from other RRA references is possible, including RRA NEW ONE: RR-02-91 as RI1ON/p. On the way to and from Solovetsky Island activity is planned as RK1O/mm and UE80AR/mm. They plan to operate CW, SSB and DIGI on 40-10 metres. QSL via RN1ON.

The ship is delayed leaving for Mokil island. We are scheduled to arrive at Mokil island on June 28th. We will be operating from Mokil from June 28th to July 2nd. [V6J Team]

Martin, LU9EFO (who now lives in Brasilia, Capital of Brazil) will travel north to the city of Belen where he will meet Renato PY8WW to activate IOTA SA-060 Cotijuba.

The callsign could officially change to PX8Z (waiting for the process) if not then PY8/ from the island.
