NEWS UPDATE – Victor, UA3AKO informs that the team arrived Chukotka safely. The weather is fine and they even managed a short trip to Alyumka island by snowmobile to find the best place for shack and antennas. On April 20th the team is planning to go to the island and start to build stations. [tnx EU7A].
February 22, 2016 – We’re pleased to announce that members of the Russian Robinson Club (RRC) namely Andrey R9XC, Yuri UA0KBG and Victor UA3AKO have plans to activate IOTA AS-092 Alyumka Island (RRA RR-12-09, RDA CК-02) between 20 – 25 of April 2016.
The exact expedition dates are tentative and depend on logistic issues and weather conditions. But they plan to be QRV at least 5 days. The issued called sign will be RT92KA. more ›

Le temps est beau et ils ont réussi, même un court voyage à l’île de Alyumka en motoneige pour trouver le meilleur endroit pour la cabane et des antennes. NEWS UPDATE
As reported previously, CY9C will have two separate sites…separated approximately 1.5 miles.
Site 1 – will be the Atlantic Cove site with 6 operators. We will try to keep 4 – 5 radios running and more if 12/10m opens. Our plan is to have a RTTY station active at all times. From this site 160 will be given lots of attention with the Battle Creek Special antenna.
Site 2 – the Northeast Point separate island will be enhanced to include 4 -5 operators active at all times, thus the dxpedition in total can potentially have 8 -10 radios working most of the time. We are seriously considering 6m EME and Satellite, however, we need to work out the planning details. And, as always, budget matters are a significant consideration as we expand operations. We appreciate the support by many to date. The desire is to make this a very complete operation that will offer fun and meeting needs for all interests.

Comme indiqué précédemment, CY9C aura deux sites séparés … séparés d’environ 1,5 miles.
Site 1 – sera le site Atlantic Cove avec 6 opérateurs. Nous allons essayer de garder 4 – 5 radios en cours d’exécution et plus si 12 / 10m ouvre. Notre plan est d’avoir une station de RTTY active en permanence. A partir de ce site de 160 sera donné beaucoup d’attention avec l’antenne spéciale Battle Creek.
Site 2 – l’île du Nord-point distinct sera amélioré pour inclure 4 -5 opérateurs actifs en tout temps, ainsi la DXpedition au total peut potentiellement avoir 8 à 10 radios qui travaillent la plupart du temps. Nous envisageons sérieusement 6m EME et Satellite, cependant, nous avons besoin de travailler sur les détails de la planification. Et, comme toujours, les questions budgétaires sont une considération importante que nous élargissons les opérations. Nous apprécions le soutien par beaucoup à ce jour. Le désir est d’en faire une opération très complète qui offrira plaisir et répondre aux besoins de tous les intérêts.

KK7L and N7SMI will activate Tuvalu as T2R between September 27 – October 4, 2016.
A primary focus of their DXpedition will be to provide training and equipment with intentions to establish a permanent and active Tuvalu Amateur Radio Club and emergency communications station. There are several licensed amateurs in Tuvalu. With the cooperation of the telecommunications authority, they will provide training and supplement on-island HF equipment to get a fully functional club station on the air. T2R will be the inaugural activation of this station. Donations will go directly to supporting Tuvaluan amateurs getting on the air.
