Otherwise, all is on track for departure for St Helena on Thursday 12th October with planned arrival in the early afternoon of Saturday 14th October. I hope to get on-air later in that afternoon. SEPTEMBER 14 — You may remember I sent you notification of my planned DXpedition to ZD7 St Helena over a year ago. I had to cancel my trip due to commercial fights not starting as planned.
Well, they are finally starting on 14th October 2017 and I am hoping to be on the first commercial flights to St Helena after all!
I am planning to stay for one week for this trip, and will be operating SSB and some Data (maybe even FT8!).
As before, I am staying in self-catering accommodation a couple of miles from Jamestown, on a plateau above the town with a good take-off to the W, N and E. The radios I am planning to take are FT 991 and FT891 and a Juma PA1000, with a vertical antenna and a variety of wires, dipoles and fibreglass supports.
I have setup a website at http://www.sthelenadx.com. My callsign should be ZD7VDE.
On-line log with be via Clublog and QSLs via OQRS.

Le 14 Septembre – Vous souvenez peut-être je vous ai envoyé une notification de mon DXpedition prévu de ZD7 Sainte-Hélène il y a plus d’un an. Je devais annuler mon voyage en raison de combats commerciaux ne démarre pas comme prévu.
Eh bien, ils commencent enfin le 14 Octobre 2017 et j’espère être sur les premiers vols commerciaux à Sainte-Hélène après tout!
Je prévois de rester pendant une semaine pour ce trajet, et opèreront SSB et certaines données (peut-être même FT8!).
Comme auparavant, je reste dans un hébergement indépendant quelques miles de Jamestown, sur un plateau au-dessus de la ville avec un bon décollage à W, N et E. Pista HA5AO will return to Lesotho as a volunteer to a local community group. Look for 7P8AO, October 16-28, 2017. He plans to operate 10–40m, CW, RTTY and FT8 when not at work; log and OQRS at HA5AO.com. The primary purpose of this trip is to conduct training classes for young entrepreneurs wanting to start their own small business. Pista himself started a business in Budapest over 25 years ago, today the company is a leader in its field.

OCTOBER 11 — Polar bears showed a very strong interest in HF and VHF! On the last day at camp they had 8 bears visit. They loaded the yacht in about two days and are now sailing to Murmansk. As they’ve collected all the stuff in a hurry all the equipment is in one pile and the tracker couldn’t be turned on. By the same reason logs couldn’t be transferred. The team plans to reach Murmansk in 3 days and the log will be uploaded. All are OK.

Ils ont chargé le yacht dans environ deux jours et voguons maintenant à Mourmansk. Comme ils ont recueilli tous les trucs pressé tout l’équipement est dans une pile et le système de suivi n’a pas pu être activé. En ne peuvent être transférés les mêmes journaux raison. L’équipe prévoit d’atteindre Mourmansk en 3 jours et le journal sera téléchargé. Tous sont OK.

A team of 6 DXers are activating Lakshadweep Islands from 11th October till 20th October. They will be landing on Island of Agatti by air and then take shift boat to Kavaratti to setup station by the beachside place. Will be active on the air on SSB, CW and Digital on 80m to 10m.
Planned setup :
Upto three stations will be on the air throughout the duration of the operation. A detailed roster has been prepared to optimise operations during the propagation windows to various geographies.
Antennas : – 80 mtr ,40 mtr, 30 mtr – verticals 20, 17, 15 12 and 10 mtr – Spiderbeam
Rigs : – Elecraft K3 – 1 – ICOM IC 7300 – 2 – KX3 -2
Amplifiers : – Juma PA 1000 – Expert 1.3K FA – Furuno PA2500
Operators : – VU2CPL Manoj, VU2WH Sangeeth, VU2XE Kiran, VU3NXI Siddhu, VU3HPF Gopan and A65DR Paul as remote support.
QSL Info : – QSLs will be handled by Manoj, VU2CPL. Logs will be uploaded to LOTW as soon as possible and this is the preferred QSL mode. OQRS will be active once the team is back on mainland. Direct QSL requests are highly discouraged and if this is the only option to request, please include an SAE and 3 GS. Please write to vu7t2017@gmail.com for log check and other enquiries. Internet connection is very poor on the island and please don’t expect any replies during the operation.

OCTOBER 4 @ 1500z – Team members managed to land. The old bulks in which they planned to stay are covered with thick ice inside so they now plan to set up something temporary today and to find (or build) another shelter tomorrow. First station possibly QRV later today on 20CW..
OCTOBER 4 @ 0930Z – Yacht is near Viktoriya Island. Old bulks (small houses) are perfectly seen. Main problem is fog – no details yet on when a landing may occur. There are at least three polar bears on the island. Guys are waiting.
OCTOBER 3 @ 19:00z – The team passed 80° north and are now offshore Viktoriya Island. They will attempt a landing tomorrow morning (local). All team members are well. Temperature is 0C and cloudy.

Le 4 Octobre @ 0930Z – Le yacht est près Viktoriya Island. Old vracs (petites maisons) sont parfaitement visibles. Le principal problème est le brouillard – détails pas encore quand un atterrissage peut se produire. Il y a au moins trois ours polaires sur l’île. Les gars attendent.
Le 3 Octobre @ 19:00z – L’équipe a passé 80 ° au nord et sont maintenant large de l’île Viktoriya. Ils tenteront un atterrissage demain matin (local). Tous les membres de l’équipe sont bien. La température est 0C et nuageux.
