Flights home early tomorrow meaning DX-World will be back in action fulltime from Monday afternoon UTC.

After yesterday’s short visit to Videy island EU-168, Col MM0NDX and Dave EI9FBB left for Westman islands EU-071 early this morning. A long road trip followed by a ferry crossing ensured we landed in good time.
The weather was fairly miserable with temps of about 6c, low cloud and mist.
Soon after set-up winds picked up and snapped a fibre pole. Nonetheless we were qrv soon after.
Radio conditions have not been that good. Plenty EU but nothing far away such as VK or ZL.
We’re active until 12pm local tomorrow propagation permitting. Some images below of TF/EI9FBB and TF/MM0NDX activity from EU071.
**Col MM0NDX apologies for earlier downtime on DX-World website today. This was a problem caused by our hosts.

Images de Westman islands EU-071
Après une courte visite d’hier à l’île Videy UE-168, Col MM0NDX et Dave EI9FBB gauche pour les îles Westman UE-071 tôt ce matin. Un long voyage de route suivie d’une traversée en ferry assuré nous avons atterri en temps utile.
Le temps était assez misérable avec des températures d’environ 6c, les nuages bas et le brouillard.
Peu après les vents set-up ramassés et mis fin à une perche de fibre. Néanmoins, nous étions QRV peu après.
conditions de radio ont pas été aussi bonne. Beaucoup UE mais rien loin, comme VK ou ZL.
Nous sommes actifs jusqu’à 24:00 propagation de demain locale le permet. Quelques images ci-dessous du TF/EI9FBB et l’activité TF/MM0NDX de EU071.
**excuses Col MM0NDX pour les temps d’arrêt plus tôt sur le site DX-World aujourd’hui. Cela a été un problème causé par nos hôtes.

DX-World’s Col MM0NDX (sorry for limited updates on website recently) and Dave EI9FBB are currently in Iceland.
Today they operated from a rather windswept Videy island EU-168. Here’s a few images of our activity.
Tomorrow they head over to the Westman islands EU-071 staying overnight with hopes of working difficult to reach areas from this iota.

Earlier this year DX-World auctioned some signed flags by team members of VP8STI/VP8SGI and FT4JA.
Mario I2HBW won the flags and as since framed them. They now sit pride of place on his shack wall.
Readers may be interested to know that Mario’s QTH was a 150 year old farm, abandoned and in pieces when he bought it. It then took four years to restore and turn into a residence. Mario says it’s a good place for radio, on top of a hill and with a 360° clear view all around.
Below is a video of the installation of the big antenna system you see at Mario’s QTH. Certainly an impressive location and antenna!

Plus tôt cette année DX-World aux enchères des drapeaux signés par les membres de l’équipe de VP8STI/VP8SGI et FT4JA.
Mario I2HBW a remporté les drapeaux et que depuis leur encadrée. Ils siègent désormais à l’honneur sur son mur cabane.
Les lecteurs peuvent être intéressés de savoir que le QTH de Mario était une ancienne ferme de 150 ans, abandonné et en morceaux quand il l’a acheté. Il a ensuite fallu quatre ans pour restaurer et se transformer en une résidence. Mario dit qu’il est un bon endroit pour la radio, au sommet d’une colline et avec une vue à 360 ° clair tout autour

Gianni, I1HYW, QSL manager for 8T2BH, says:
Bhagwati VU3BPZ / 8T2BH has sent me some pics of auroras taken at Bharati Base on his May 16 (May 15 for us). The lack of conditions probably due to the magnetic storm are preventing 8T2BH to listen almost anything at the moment. He hope this will be a temporary situation.
For those who are waiting confirmations, I’m finally happy to say that QSLs will be ready by June 24 at Friedrichshafen, and the day after I will be reply to all the requests received..just a bit more of patience!

Bhagwati VU3BPZ / 8T2BH m’a envoyé quelques photos de auroras prises à Bharati base sur son 16 mai (15 mai pour nous). L’absence de conditions sans doute en raison de la tempête magnétique sont empêche 8T2BH d’écouter presque rien pour le moment. Il espère que ce sera une situation temporaire.
Pour ceux qui sont en attente de confirmations, je suis enfin heureux de dire que QSL seront prêts d’ici le 24 Juin à Friedrichshafen, et le lendemain je serai réponse à toutes les demandes received..just un peu plus de patience!
