PRESS RELEASE — The Perseverance DX Group (pdxg.net) commenced planning next year’s DX-pedition to Central Kiribati (Kanton Island) T31. The call sign T31W was issued for team use. Exact dates have not been selected, plan October, 2017.
The expedition yacht Evohe from Dunedin, New Zealand will provide transportation and logistical support to the project. We expect to meet the team in Apia, Samoa for the estimated 4 day sail to Kanton Island.
Planning to participate are: Arnie N6HC, Kevin K6TD, Heye DJ9RR, Pista HA5AO, Laci HA0NAR, Gene K5GS, Les W2LK, Glenn KE4KY, Mike WA6O, Ricardo PY2PT and Steve W1SRD.
We are working with the authorities regarding the landing permit formalities and will soon submit the required documentation and fees. Watch the usual DX sources for information. We will announce additional details as they develop.
At this time T31 is overall #19 most wanted on Clublog. However, the need in EU is significant for CW/SSB/RTTY. Getting a team to T31 requires a safe boat and qualified skipper / crew, this DX-pedition will not be inexpensive, fundraising activities will soon begin.

COMMUNIQUÉ DE PRESSE — Le DX Group Persévérance (de pdxg.net) a commencé la planification de DX-pedition de l’année prochaine pour Kiribati Central (Île Kanton) T31. Le signe d’appel T31W a été émis pour l’utilisation de l’équipe. Les dates exactes ne sont pas sélectionnés, le plan Octobre 2017.
Le voilier d’expédition Evohe de Dunedin, Nouvelle-Zélande fournira le transport et le soutien logistique au projet. Nous nous attendons à rencontrer l’équipe à Apia, Samoa pour la estimée 4 jours voile à l’île Kanton.

Bhagwati VU3BPZ / 8T2BH has sent me some pics of auroras taken at Bharati Base on his May 16 (May 15 for us). The lack of conditions probably due to the magnetic storm are preventing 8T2BH to listen almost anything at the moment. He hope this will be a temporary situation.
For those who are waiting confirmations, I’m finally happy to say that QSLs will be ready by June 24 at Friedrichshafen, and the day after I will be reply to all the requests received..just a bit more of patience!

Bhagwati VU3BPZ / 8T2BH m’a envoyé quelques photos de auroras prises à Bharati base sur son 16 mai (15 mai pour nous). L’absence de conditions sans doute en raison de la tempête magnétique sont empêche 8T2BH d’écouter presque rien pour le moment. Il espère que ce sera une situation temporaire.
Pour ceux qui sont en attente de confirmations, je suis enfin heureux de dire que QSL seront prêts d’ici le 24 Juin à Friedrichshafen, et le lendemain je serai réponse à toutes les demandes received..just un peu plus de patience!

UPDATE – Cezar will be operating from the Cooper island refuge at 71°14N by 155°42W.
May 11, 2016 – Cezar, VE3LYC is happy to announce to DX World that all logistics are in place for an operation from IOTA group NA-172 during the first week of August.
Given the typical HF propagation uncertainties from the high Arctic, he wishes to assure IOTA chasers that he will take into account the propagation conditions at the time in the scheduling of the length of his operation.

UPDATE – Extra ops added – OK1GK, OK2ZA and OK1BOA – to original team.
We are pleased to announce a new Czech DXpedition. We have obtained permission of activate D6 – Comoros Island. It took us 6 months of negotiations to activate such a rare country, currently on Club Log – rank number 89.
Activity is scheduled for the second half of September. We will activate new prefix D66D. Operators are Pavel OK1FPS, Petr OK1FCJ & David OK6DJ. Operation will be on the HF bands, antennas are Spiderbeams and verticals for the lower bands.
