We referred earlier to the commitment of the new company, Islands on the Air (IOTA) Ltd, to the paperless QSLing project that will allow electronic confirmation of contacts. Much progress has been made and some elements of this work are scheduled to be launched very soon on the existing system on the IOTA website. The new system itself will come on stream in early 2017. While paperless QSLing offers the IOTA Community huge savings in costs, the software development involved requires substantial investment, the more so as it has to be grafted on to a system that will continue to accept paper cards. To help meet these costs, the new company has launched Friends of IOTA as a supporters’ group within Islands on the Air (IOTA) Ltd. Its aim is to give IOTA enthusiasts the opportunity not only to participate in one of the most active DX programmes in the world but also to support it with donations to ensure its long-term future. Details of an appeal for funds are given here. Please consider helping us to help you by becoming a Friend of IOTA.

Nous avons parlé plus tôt à l’engagement de la nouvelle société, îles sur l’Air (IOTA) Ltd, au projet de QSLing sans papier qui permettra une confirmation électronique de contacts. Beaucoup de progrès ont été réalisés et certains éléments de ces travaux sont prévu pour être lancé très prochainement sur le système existant sur le site IOTA. Le nouveau système lui-même viendra en service au début 2017. Alors que QSLing sans papier offre les énormes économies IOTA communautaires dans les coûts, le développement de logiciels impliqués exige un investissement important, d’autant plus qu’il doit être greffé sur un système qui continuera à accepter cartes en papier. Pour répondre à ces coûts, la nouvelle société a lancé Amis de IOTA comme un groupe de supporters dans les îles sur l’Air (IOTA) Ltd. Son but est de donner aux amateurs de IOTA l’occasion non seulement de participer à l’un des programmes les DX les plus actifs dans le monde, mais aussi pour le soutenir avec des dons pour assurer son avenir à long terme. Diplôme IOTA quelques changements dans le règlement

Avec effet au 1er Juin 2016, le célèbre diplôme IOTA (Island On The Air) apporte quelques modifications à son règlement :

  • devant l’augmentation des frais postaux, les certificats papiers seront désormais au format électronique ;
  • l’arrêt des crédits pour les contacts VHF/UHF, changement qui ne touchera que peu de participants ;
  • séparation du paiement du diplôme de base de 100 îles et de celui de l’enregistrement au diplôme ;
  • le seuil de définition d’un groupe IOTA ‘rare’ passe à 20% au lieu de 15% auparavant.

À noter le projet en cours d’un système de gestion des QSL 100% sans papier qui devrait voir le jour au début de l’an prochain.
