After checking a possible error, we told him that there must be a big problem with his IC706. Bad news !! Oufffff ! He also brought with him a 2nd transceiver; an old FT890. We told Fran\u00e7ois to use the FT890 and he will try to repear the IC706 later.<\/p>\n<p>We don&#8217;t know if it&#8217;s suddenly better propagation or just the new transceiver, but he has made for the first time a SSB pilup! He is so happy to hear clearly stations from Asia, USA, Russia and few french stations. Remember, Fran\u00e7ois is a newbie, but he has made 140QSO in 3 days. He is so happy. He will try to be more active on the air.<\/p>\n<p>For the moment, he can only work in SSB with the FT890 but he will configure it quickly to digital modes: JT65 and FT8.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, he has to QRT suddenly due to very high winds who goes from 0 to 130-140 km\/h in 2 minutes. It is katabatic wind. This wind comes from the land and is plenty of snow. It&#8217;s like sandstorm, but it is snow. In 2 minutes, he has to disconnect antenna due to big static electricity and to go back to the station with visibilty less than 20 meters. You can see the wall of snow on pictures below. Apr\u00e8s avoir v\u00e9rifi\u00e9 une erreur possible, on lui a dit qu&rsquo;il doit y avoir un gros probl\u00e8me avec son IC706. Mauvaises nouvelles !! Oufffff! Il a \u00e9galement apport\u00e9 avec lui un 2\u00e8me \u00e9metteur-r\u00e9cepteur; un vieux FT890. Nous avons dit \u00e0 Fran\u00e7ois d&rsquo;utiliser le FT890 et il va essayer de repear plus tard, le IC706.<\/p>\n<p>Nous ne savons pas si elle est soudainement meilleure propagation ou tout simplement le nouvel \u00e9metteur-r\u00e9cepteur, mais il a fait pour la premi\u00e8re fois une pilup SSB! Il est si heureux d&rsquo;entendre clairement les stations de l&rsquo;Asie, Etats-Unis, la Russie et quelques stations fran\u00e7aises. Rappelez-vous, Fran\u00e7ois est un d\u00e9butant, mais il a fait 140QSO en 3 jours. Il est si heureux. Il va essayer d&rsquo;\u00eatre plus actif sur l&rsquo;air.<\/p>\n<p>Pour le moment, il ne peut travailler en SSB avec le FT890 mais il configure rapidement aux modes num\u00e9riques: JT65 et FT8.<\/p>\n<p>Parfois, il doit qRT tout \u00e0 coup en raison de vents tr\u00e8s forts qui passe de 0 \u00e0 130-140 km \/ h en 2 minutes. Il est vent catabatiques. Ce vent vient de la terre et l&rsquo;abondance de la neige. Il est comme temp\u00eate de sable, mais il est la neige. En 2 minutes, il doit d\u00e9brancher l&rsquo;antenne en raison de l&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 statique grande et pour revenir \u00e0 la station avec visibilty moins de 20 m\u00e8tres. Vous pouvez voir le mur de neige sur les images ci-dessous.
